Back in the 20's and 30's, Ford mined sand/silica from under their St Paul plant-now closed. Here is a link to what they looked like-taken by some urban underground explorers. Pretty cool link to Ford's past.

Those are cool pics. I like the use of Ford steering wheels on the machinery.

  3. Pretty cool, I expected some slip shod old world looking stuff.

Ford was a pretty cool cookie wasn't he.

  4. a few guys with cancer/health problems working in that I bet! Silica sands some nasty shit!

  5. Neat that it is there. Not so neat. Breaking and entering. Going to jail. Even worse.

Pretty cool peek at the innards (underds?) of Ford.

  7. I have had that website bookmarked for a couple years. There is a fair sized community of urban explorers in the cities. Very cool pictures.

Cool old plant with a giant damn holding back the Mississippi right next door... Henrey needed power! I guess at 5:00 today it's shuttered.

  9. Interesting .... not a fan of breaking entering/trespassing though.

The part that got me was the mould in the tunnels ... these clowns probably should have been wearing some kind of breathing apparatus ... I can see it now ... Ford being sued by these peeps (perps) because of permanent lung damage caused by exposure to toxic mould with Ford being at fault because of their lack of ability to prevent passersby from entering.

    Interesting though ....

I did get a kick out of them blocking the face of the toad, nice touch.
