Pete's has the most Bitchin' profile and while I'm not a fan of E&J's, they work in the sense of not attracting attention like a normal headlight (even though they attract attention on they're own terms). A true lakes coupe like that would not have ran headlights so the E&J's kind of serve the purpose of giving that vibe that there is nothing or at the very least streamlining the headlights there but while still making it drivable. It's actually a neat trick!

Here's another shot of mine in all it's glory. I think it's next on the list of car to work on since I have everything for it. Just a few loose adds and ends and I can put a suspension under it.

haha! i know! it's ready for paint. no filler needed.

i can't wait til finals are over. then i have 6 weeks off.

just need to finish installing the wood stove for a little heat, and i am off to the races.

  12. JJ and Mark - your cars are awesome (even if they are a couple of windows short ). I can't wait to see them come together.

You both have great "eyes" and will do them proud.

Not fair again!! I wanna be a teacher damn it!! 6 weeks off? I'll expect it finished by next semester.

Thanks bud, it's pretty exciting stuff. I've got a good idea what I'm going for and it should be pretty straight forward except rechopping it. That's going to be tricky.

I've given up on trying to keep up with you. :D

  15. Andy,
You scored a '34!?!?! Where have I been?

Another awesome build I can look forward to following. We all have high expectations of you after your roadster. One of my all-time favorites.

andy, the body is unbelievable. dave simard perfection.

and yes, i have a '57 312 y-block, bored .030 over to 317. just needs a little finish assembly and some odds and ends, like a distributor. i have a mustang t-5 with a mummert adapter to go behind it. so stoked.

speaking of which, i really need to get ready for my algebra final...

not a teacher yet. still a student (again). which is okay, except that i have to make it happen on an unemployed student's budget.

but i have almost everything already. so yeah.

Haha, sorta, yea... I bought a beat up ol fourdoor sedan from JJ here, gonna slice-n-dice it into an absolutely austere, bare-bones, MUCH chopped 5w!

Ahh, MUCHO y block eh? I'm putting a hopped up 272 in mine backed by a '39 box and either a qc or 3.54 banjo... haven't decided on the rear yet but I put an A rear crossmember/spring in just in case... Was wondering about firewall clearance, but with the T5 you'll probably have a little more fore-aft placement choice...

    wow! sounds exciting!

as for firewall- i am going to cut out the perfect stock one, and put in a 35 truck firewall. it gives another 7 inches. the stock one would definitely need major mods.

pete put a 35 truck one in his car. might have some pics on his build thread from, what, 2007? or so.

can't wait to see progress from you.

Well... luckily (?) the stock firewall in this thing has already been hacked up pretty good, I'm gonna drop the engine and trans in and then set the cowl on top and go from there.
