The reason to run a hood is the fact that cars look better with them, all Dry Lakes and Bonneville cars ran them. :)

If you are not a sbc guy, why did you put one in your hot rod?

Either a hood, or multi-carbs.....I get it!

Funny thing according to HOT ROD magazine the best set-up for the most H.P. with a SBC is the correct size 4 barrel carb. More H.P. than with 2-2's, 3-2's, 4-2's, 6-2's and 2-4's.......they (4 barrels) just don't look as racy.

I think they say the same about a 4 barrel being best for a flathead.. Just doesn't look as cool as 2 or 3 97's.......

That's cool. I can just imagine driving that in bare feet and grating all the callouses off my heals with that floor. Great idea! No pun intended.

I really dig the engine actually, there arent many stockish looking sbc's in coupes and roadsters anymore, but if you look in the old mags there are a lot of them

The Cal custom valve covers set it off pretty well too

I'm really digging the unchanneled body and the stance is just right . I'm running the same setup for a chassis ............now you got me thinking ...thanks for the inspiration

Thanks I think I have one that I picked up out of a box of junk from an auction a few years ago and I was looking for a mate to it!

  27. Nice! Old unpolished vette valve covers and 3-2's or 2 4's and you will have it just right. And don't drop your change on the floor at the toll both. Great car.
