Rear End Swap (finally)

    Hey everyone out there... thanks for the help, I finally swapped out the original torque tube and rear axle from my 1950 Chevy Truck to a more modern one.... NOW the question is.... what did I put in there....

    Here are the numbers...

    Rear End chevy 2wd??? What year????
    62 inches across
    NF3896838
    GM 58
    HA 0110W 1
    3.73 gears

    Jim seemed to be the expert before.... any word Jim????

    HA, 3.73's and 62" I believe will make it for '64-'65 and '66-'70 (and maybe to '72) Chevy trucks.

    Yours was built January 10th in Warren Michigan, but I don't know how to tell the year for sure.

    I tried looking it up and trying to find the year. I knew it was from a chevy 2wd truck, just stuck on the year. I can take a picture of it if needed... It does have the pan over bar option.... Which of course I don't need... I bought the leaf spring perches from CPP.

    The "jim" I was referring to is: Jim SQUIRREL Forbes. He is recognized as the expert when it comes to codes and chevys.

  9. I think he means a panhard bar... As in, there's a bracket for a panhard bar to attach to the housing. Maybe? :confused:

    OK, now that makes sense. Why would you put a rear end in without knowing what its from?
