Recommend Metal/Body/Paint work in Ventura, CA?

I need some recommendations on places in Ventura, CA for metal/paint/body work on my 39 GMC pickup. I'm on a budget so I need a place that will be cool with me taking body panels in a couple at a time for repairs and working toward assembly/fitment/paint after I get my chassis all put together. I know good work aint cheap, I just don't have all the cash up front to get all the work done, and as much as I'd like to do it myself, I don't have the time to dedicate to it and get it done by my deadline of July 2012.

Who do you guys like around here?

Oh, and i know there's no chrome shops in town anymore, but while we're at it how about chroming that's local and reasonable? Anyone used Faith Plating?

 

Don't have any Ventura recommendations for you, but we use Faith Plating, they have done good work for us.

 

That's good to read. I know they've been around forever. I'll probably give them a shot for my bumpers.

 

I take a night bodyshop class at adult ed here in San Jose,might check to see if anything is offered in your area.

 

I only wish my schedule permitted that kind of class. I'd have done it a long time ago.

I'm really curious about two shops in particular that are very close to me. Ocean Body Shop and Larry Colin Autobody. Anyone know these shops by reputation or personal experience?
