i am not sure what the exact definition of what a hot rod is but i call my rig a hot rod..it is a 1947 white with a really cool 464cu.in. cummins super charged engine that has at least twice the power of the old flathead 6 banger gasser it had in it ..and my 10 speed road ranger gives ya a good slection of gears.. it keeps up and passes traffic with ease and gets alot of comments at the car shows i have taken it to so far.. and with the 14x4 ft. slideout it makes hanging around the cars shows a real pleasure... had a great time at the crusin' the coast show in mississippi this fall and even met a few hambers there (meeting my hamb buddy brian with his rod was a real blast).. i'll post a few pics and see if ya'll think the magic bus is a real hot rod....

  2. Your the only one I know of that has a Hot Rod like that... Very Cool!

Breeder could use a Hot Rod like that to escape his annual 100 year floods!

Sure looks like a hot rod to me after reading your definition. Besides that can it get any cooler being able to take your home with you out on the road?:)

51 bird..there is a link in the first post to a few pics..i am going to do alot more to it this winter..plan on making the interior resemble a 50's era diner..already have some old original soda fountain parts for the sink faucet's. and parts for the 2 booths that will convert into beds in the slideout..now i am looking for 2 of the old tabletop juke box's and signs or anything to give it the right look.... 4 of us stayed comfortably in it at the last show but we had to lay 1 mattress on the floor so i am coming up with a few better ideas to try to sleep 6..... where in central jersey you from..i grew up in deptford and wildwood villas

sea horse..it was a 1947 school bus used till 1960 in california..then used till 73 to haul laborer's from mexico... it was built into a camper kinnda roughly..i re-did it this past summer into what it is now..have already put over 10,000 miles on it..did the whole rt. 66 from chicago to california..and then hit car shows from the east coast to the gulf.. i hope to get more work done on it, and travel around from show to show

    Luv it...........fantastic !!

I grew up with a couple of '47 Whites in our family , one a crane rig and the other a tipper body , my dad was in the earth moving business , made a huge impression on me when I was a little kid , I used to love going with my dad in these trucks .

I have been searching for a good one for years here in Australia , to build into a tow rig for our 5th wheeler...............still lookin'

    cheers
