I love the look. I'm still confused on how the light mounts. Does the bucket mount from behind? Do you have any pics on how the light assembly mounts to the fender? I'm definatly going that way but want to understand how it works before I start tearing stuff up. Please help.

As a noob, I was looking for a way to french the headlights on my '51 chevy - and I don't want the 'tunnelled' look. This post made me giddy.

I came 'this' close to hiring a babysitter, mounting the fenders and frenching my headlights tonight!

So, while I know I'm a couple years or so late... thanks :)

Now, to design my taillight frenching buckets :)

  14. Just browsing this post and the mrs says to me "what are you looking up on the internet?" and I say to her "frenching techniques" and she says "you're not on a porn site?" and I say "oh, yes, what this guy has done is pure porn!"
A big thumbs up from me too!

Nice Job Yaril! I'm a big fan of hiding the work with scallops too. Brilliant! I'm looking forward to seeing the taillights getting done!

I have a 49 Buick and will be welding up my gas door also. What did you do with the filler neck? Did you just put it in the trunk, or something more clever?

  29. I've been wondering the same thing. Any other cool places to route the filler neck? I know this tread is old, but I see you guys are still following it.
