Where to buy round finned breather/pcv local SOCAL

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 56 ford custom, Dec 5, 2011.

  1. I am growing very impatient with mooneyes. Also theres are "ribbed" not finned. I have some finned no name valve covers for my sbc that I am almost positive theycame from moon. Would they match? Basically I am asking if anyone else her in Southern California has these in stock. Im near anaheim.

  2. Somebody must know something

    A picture would help tremendously.

  4. I thought everyone would know what the breathers would look like. But I will go ahead and post them in a bit.

The ones I got weren't finned either. More ribbed than finned

  8. Well I think im just going to get chromes ones. Nobody makes the finned ones im looking for.

  9. Maybe if you showed a picture of your valve covers it would help. The line between "Ribbed" and "Finned" may seem clear to you, but not to someone reading this, the terms are somewhat interchangeable in most peoples minds.

  11. My valve covers are very similar to the ones in the picture above.

  13. I guess it would be the second picture. The only thing is that my valve covers dont have that sharp of a fin. They are more like the valve covers on the top of the page.

  14. the second one is from O'Brien truckers, who is an alliance vendor on here.

  15. Would the match the valve covers like the ones at the top of the page?

I could machine up a cap that would press on to a chrome breather then send it out for polishing. Can make it out of billit or a cast barstock to get a softer polish finnish.

I was looking for the same thing but my issue was I need it to have little tabs and twist on, not just push in. Haven't been able to find.

  19. Denise,

Mine is a cover that can be used on the Mr. Gasket 2061 quarter turn breather (or equivalent). http://www.obrientruckers.com/ecom/product_images/244/2596/#ProductImages

    Good luck on your search,

    Dennis
