Was hoping to get some advice on WWW tire size for my 53 ford....I got 15 in dunlop g-78's on there now and they are a motherf'r to get on and off...i want to go with the WWW from coker...Any suggestions?
If you get on Coker tires web sight you can type in make model and year and it will give you stock O.E. size . If you want to change sizes call in they will help you if changing rim size they can help you keep same diameter as orignal any other changes they wont help in case it rubs any good tire guy can help guide you some are more willing to go the extra mile and research what you need to get the changes you desire. Find one into old cars or hot rodder it will help.
forgot to mention that I have a 3 inch drop coils and shocks and 3 in lowering block kit from jamco being installed on the car...
cool...those look like they are smaller diameter and tread width....question tho..with the lowering will they rub at all?
I have a set of Diamondback whitewalls that came off a 1954 Ford Customline that had air bags. If interested check them out. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=642386
Yea thats how I got them. Buddy had them on his ride and wanted to go back to bias plys. Good luck with the search.
Yep, 6.70X15 was pretty much the "common" size for Ford/Chev/Plym...and many others in those days. In '57 many went to 14"...but that's another story. Jonnie King www.legends.thewwbc.net
I used 670X15's on My 54 Merc, had Posies leafs and 4" blocks, it was a bitch but I could get em on and off. Any bigger and You'll probably run into problems.
6.70-15s are the correct size unless it's a wagon. I run Firestone 6.70-15s from Coker on my 54 Customline and love them. I drive it on the Jersey Turnpike/Garden State Parkway in the rain, in the heat, in the cold, and these tires do fine. I ran the car 70 miles in just under an hour (in the dry) and the car tracked great. I have the 2 5/8" Whitewalls, they're correct for our era cars. Check out my album, I have plenty of pics of the car. Also, BEFORE you order from Coker, join the HAMB Alliance. A) You'll support the HAMB and help pay for the fuel for the flathead powered generator that Ryan uses to power the board, and B) What you spend on the Alliance membership will more than pay for itself with the discount that you will get from Coker. BTW, join the 52-56 Ford social group on here, kickass group of people.
Join the 52-56 Ford Owner's Social Group and do an intro. You will get plenty of advice and make a few new friends.
Thanks for the invite...will do...thanks again for the advice on the tires...I got a discount from jamco of 10% for being a hamb member so I will do the same with the tires when I order them....
