Mine is channeled over a 1970 Thunderbird chassis. 429, C6, power disc brakes. It has been my daily driver for over 30 years and I have logged over 300,000 miles on it. Great little truck!

What is your wheel base and what size are your wheels and tires? I built mine over a 70 Bird chassis and cut down a long box to fit the stock Bird wheel base. Now were building one for my brother over a 77 Mark chassis and are cutting the chassis down for a short wide.
Your truck is looking great.

Wheel base is factory short bed plus 1 1/2". The front axle centerline is moved forward 2 1/2" and the rear moved forward 1" to better center the wheels in the openings. When you drop it this far it looks like the wheels are back too far in the openings. Tires are 215/70/16 fronts and 275/70/16 in the rear. Front suspension is '87 C4 Corvette and the rear is '97 Explorer 8.8 disc brake posi mounted with a four link. Coil overs on all 4 corners. Hub to hub width on the front and rear are the same as the factory '60 stuff. Engine is 5.0 fuel injected with a 5 speed. Being built as a driver.

Great post... I need to get my project file updated anyway... tons of these on my phone (from being in the shop day after day), only a fraction make it to the computer. I've gotten SO much help from my friends and support from my wife this year, can't say enough how thankful I am...

Springfield, OR, what a trip! That was where this truck lived before their brother sold it to me in Redding 10 years ago!

Not in the rear but the fronts rub on a hard turn with the torque thrusts. Here is a shot with my winter wheels and tires (easier to wash!) they are stock 15X6.5 heavy duty station wagon wheels. Most stock 15” Ford steel wheels you find are 6”. ffice:eek:ffice" />

These are one of those species I did not like, then I turned around and loved'em. I am sure most of us have had this deal with one car/truck or anopther. Some great lookin examples shown here. One of my faves is out of Austin, Tx., a white knoickout owned by Javier. It is so sweet! ~sololobo~
