Sometimes there just isn't enough room for a stock tank.

Those of you using a stock tank, is there a sender to us a modern gauge, or do you have to go with the original.

I used a 15 gal. foam filled fuel cell in my coupe. This was about 20 years ago that I set this up. It works just fine though I might do it different today. Obviously no room for a rumble seat.

as part of the original 60's build mine has what i think is a 19 gal. ford tractor tank. (the sender pick-up looks ford). when i first saw it i thought is was a pre-67 vw bug tank, they look simular but i believe vw to be smaller.

I would want to install a custom dash and want the gauges to match

  16. Why do you need all that? Kallifuckya EPA stuff? I thought old cars were exempt. The cutoff switch is a good idea however.

That is correct Steve, there is no law that says it needs to be on, it does keep the fumes contained and wasn't hard to install.

  21. I figured a good sealing cap and a vent out of the car would suffice, but then I've never owned a car with the tank inside.

He is going to be like me, the stock dash is behind another custom dash? Mine does still have the stock gauge, just can't see it.... so I just have to remember to keep checking when I drive it....

I ran out of gas with it once giving a friend's older mom a ride for her birthday(she had said that she wanted one), ended up walking with the poor old gal a good mile plus before we got back to her son's house. I think she is in her late 70s.
