  1. Very similar to a torsion bar under a trailer, with two large hydraulic dampers. Pretty cool setup. The 2CV always looks like it's about to roll over in a turn, but they are surprisingly agile and they track true.

Always wanted one of these little beasts! Came very close to having one shipped from Germany about 20 years ago.

  2. All very nice and yes i had one too (in the early 90's) but what has this 2CV to do with a hotrod ?

Nice metalworking. I'm looking forward to seeing what it ends up looking like.

A 2CV body is as light and simple as it gets for a fully enclosed car that size.size.

I read a magazine review of a 2CV back in the day, and the thing that I remember was the article said the back seat was like sitting in a hammock. A car for the masses, interesting one for a build.

  15. I love your car and I like this fake add for the c2...which is a spoof of the C4 add belowVVV

This build is outstanding! Nice lift built in the floor. Check out www.elpsycho.com See what else the French are up to.

Very cool build and real hot rodding - taking what you have and improving it.
Great workmanship as well. Where are you in France?

  19. How about fitting a 60hp Panhard flat twin, or a Citroen flat four?

    That's some beautiful sheet metalwork.

My two favorite 2CV are the factory made Sahara, with front and rear engines and 4WD, and this one.

Might not be a hot rod, yet - but nice fabrication skills and a nice save of a worthy car. My vote is for a 1300cc GS or GSA flat four. It does fit, and has been done quite often. They rev high and have a lot of power. 100mph in the GS! I know, I had one 25 years ago.

    That one is fake.

If you look carefully, you can see the front spindle was a piece of galvanised tube from a scaffold.

That car was put together to make a poster that was sold in the '70s.

    The wheels were borrowed.

I talked to a guy who said he wrenched on the car they belonged to.

CUSTOM! Interesting enough to keep an eye on, that's for sure. If you need to practice on something, this is it. I bet when it is done it will get a lot of attention.
