I don't know if it's patina or not, but it is 30 to 40 year old badly applied paint. I will eventually get around
to fixing it, but it's not high on my priority list.

If "patina" you mean rust, here's my 56. As a shameless plug, I need a good cowl for this--like from the windshield to the floor, in So Cal, if anybody has one!!

I'll have to dig out the photo and copy it. There is a 57 more door here in the area that won the award for the "most original" tri 5 Chevy at a national tri 5 meet a number of years ago. the guy probably still has it sitting in the same condition. The paint and chrome were worn thing by washing and polishing over the years but it had NO RUST and no dings. I think it even had the original factory air in the original tires that came with it. The car had never spent a night outside and had belonged to the proverbial little old lady who only drove it to the hair dresser and church.
While guys would have fits over it now, it received more negative comments than all the other cars in the show combined at that show. That was several years ago when show goers expected the cars in the show to shine.

My '55 may not meet the strict requirements of the current definition of patina, but if you looked it over in person you would see right away that it is essentially untouched since being rodded in Long Beach in the late '60s-early '70s. It looks shiney and nice in photos but quickly shows its wonderful age up close. Even the 11:1/Duntov-cammed 327 engine has been in there since 1977 and still runs great. Interior is untouched for over 40 years except for the new shifter. '67 Camaro buckets in leather tuck (back seat too). 1963 black CA plates still with the car, restored, with 1964 and '65 reg stickers.

Love this one! (Shopped the pics a little.) Black CA plates, five-spokes, pinner whites. I wouldn't change a thing!
