I personally like the painted ones, different then the thousands of others I have seen. And not all of them are stainless, so who knows they may of needed rechromed and he didnt want to spend the money right now.

I've never seen an original 57 Caddy hubcap that wasn't stainless steel.

Love these caps as well. I'm trying to run down a set for my '53 but I'm not sure that even with all the beauty of these caps that they could make my ol' Dodge look cool. (kool?):D By the way, where do you get the different bullets for these? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out something that I could buy that would be about the right diameter and can't think of anything?

You can buy the bullets for the center from Night Prowlers.

what about the 59/60 eldorado cap or the brougham alloy rim that copies it

  13. i love how some people ask me "why do you have 50 merc hubcaps on your cadillac"

    IMHO, played out on customs..

i think they one of my fav hubcaps of all time, only behind the 59/60 eldorado caps/wheels and the delux 1960 buick caps...

    57 caps on a 58 cad!!!

57 Caddy hub caps, Lets re-name them to 50 Merc hub caps. And re-name the grills from DeSoto to Merc, and the Buick side trim to 50 Merc. side trim. I tell people I have 50 Merc trim on my Buick, and the belive it.
There must be alot of Buicks missing side trim and alot of DeSotoes missing grills.

They`ve been on my car for 18 years now. I use the centers out of the Caddy caps from the 80`s and 90`s. The centers are more of a Maroon in color.

  19. Stanlow....That's an amazing photo for me! Though I no longer have my photos, I had a '70 Catalina 2 Dr HT done with the Wide Goodyears and '57 Caddy Hubcaps.....Mine was painted Gold by the guys at Excalibur Motor Cars where I worked in 1972 , Dechromed and Lowered, and all the photos I had of it were taken in a field next to Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee in '73.....Even our photos look amazingly alike....! Very Bizzare........... Centurion9

Hey Baker, I was across the street from you on Sunday at the Longhorn Rodrun. I was in the blue 69-1/2 Roadrunner with the liftoff hood. You were parked by that stunning 56' Victoria.

I'm repainting my 56 Nomad right now and am planning on putting these covers on it. Anyone have any pics of 56 Chevys with them on there? I went through the thread and did a search online, but can't seem to find any.

I think they'd be the perfect touch with the whitewalls on my Nomad.

    Cheers

I have loved them for years and been collecting them for years, I have sets that are stock and some with bullets and some with a flat center piece ( golf cart trailer caps fit perfect). Great thread cant believe I have missed it before.
Here is a set of 4 on my 49 Meteor Coupe, 53 Chev Convert.
