Well I'm finally moving forward on the Chevy. I've had more than enough time to throw around some ideas as far as desired end result. If you care to you can see some of the ideas that have been tossed around here> http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298529 This weekend we got around to cutting out some rusted floor and body panels. We also did some smaller scale stuff like removing bulky ornaments and excess trim. I certainly hope I can keep the motivation going, I'm finally getting really excited about this project. I've always been weary of cutting apart my favorite car. The time has come.

That looks familiar! A fellow suedes member (sixinarow) did a fine job on his '51 sedan. His had nasty rust in the wheelwells too. Keep up the good work!

Hey Pinstriper, what'd he do about the small channel just above the rear wheel? That's gotta come out for sure.

Got a bunch of the shiny stuff off of the driver's side tonight. If anyone is interested in the trim let me know.

There's also a picture of the window that all of my kind neighbors offered to roll up when it was raining...

Got the passenger side shiny pieces off. Removed the giant chunk of chrome off of the trunk and got rid of the world's longest antenna. The exhaust was held on by one bolt, quick work, my favorite!

Great progress! Man I can appreciate the "oh sh!t, WTH am I getting into?" moment...that's why I steer clear of panel and rust repair!

I'll be following this thread. If you need a hand and guys near you aren't available, call or PM me-maybe I can help (especially if it's electrical or engine related).

Sounds like the engine is almost done. It's a '54 235. Went with a corvette cam, should help a little. No new progress on the car itself, garage is trashed!

Getting a shop SOON! Should help with progress. I've decided not to chop. This is my first build so I'm going to keep it relatively simple.

    Coupes are cool!
Are you finished the wheel wells? Raising them even an inch could make a real difference when changing tires.

If that's your car in your avatar then, YES! LOOKS GOOD!

Haven't touched the car in a couple of months. Hope fully that's all about to change.
