Clarks Corvairs still makes all the parts so you can stick a SB Chev in the back seat and have a 12 sec drag car.
This footage has been doctored!I've seen all this before but this video has had footage moved around.Like where they try driving it up over the turn banking they went off roading with that car with ease in the origonal footage! The roll over was done on purpose to show the strength of the body construction. The braking footage actually showed the car stopping shorter than a front engine car and being held under control better.Someone just had some fun with this clip.
Damn, those late Corvairs are cool. I had a '66 Spyder in high school. Loved that car, and always thought they made the BEST looking race cars.
or afford to restore one! my son {17yr old}has been saving up for parts for his 61' 900 monza, something like $150 for the rear window gasket/seal,damn! that pretty much what i have in the car.oh well i asked if he wanted to sell it & he said no!{he want to restore it} here's the day we drug it home,a 15yr old boy & his new toy.
Thanks! I appreciate it! Maybe next year I'll enter it in the "Creme de la Chrome" show. Jason, if you're asking me about the wheels, they are 15x7 Chevy rally wheels with Wheel Vintiques caps and rings. I don't know what they originally came from as I got them on a 75' Pontiac. I'm thinking mid 70's Chevelle or something like that.
Honestly I have to say I think the Corvair is my favorite car GM ever made. It did all of the things that american cars at the time were bad at, millage and handling and did them very well. And they were actually a very safe car despite what "Mr" Nader said in his little book.
