This is a poster concept that I am working on for my mobile studio idea. It would be hand cut from linoleum and letterpress printed on my 70 year old press. The vehicle is a 1953 Fageol moving van.

Thanks to all who have commented. This place always has a great art show on friday and is a HUGE inspiration to me. It is always great to see new people getting inspired to join in. Here's one I finished yesterday for some local good guys at Bruce's.

Chet Herbert Streamliner Body By Barris Kustom Auto
    (Oil on Board)

In the UK this weekend as part of the Rhythm Riot weekender there is an exhibition based around the legendary car customiser George Barris. If you don't know the name you will definitely know some of his creations, for example TV's Original Batmobile, The Munsters Koach, Black Beauty from Green Hornet the list goes on.

As part of the show I have created the above painting depicting the Chet Herbert Streamliner. George Barris and Sam Barris of Barris Kustoms created and painted the body for Chet Herbert's second Streamliner in three weeks. It was originally designed to be powered by a four-cylinder Weir Indy engine from 1932, however Chet changed his mind when the engine disintegrated during dyno testing. Chet chose a Hemi engine to operate his Streamliner, Sam had to reshape the body in order to suit a Hemi engine.

More info on the Exhibition and the rest of Rhythm Riot click the link below:

My first submission to one of these, hopefully it qualifies...

I call my "art" Sewing Machine Art. I draw up whatever I have in mind to make, then cut out patterns, then transfer those patterns to my material. The material is then cut with an x-acto, and all the layers are sewn together. This one I also used rivets to give the skull some piercings... The stitched piece is then mounted in a custom "frame," in this case it was a coffin shaped matte black vinyl frame.
