Chris I bought a grill like yours at hershey for 1800.00. A rechromed original grill that was done some 25 years ago. Had just the right patina to go on my original 3W. A Drake grill is too shiney for original cars. Thats why there is interest in these old grills.

as a person who likes to take crap and make it no longer be crap I think that is a very straight grille and would clean up easy to look just about like the "nicest original I've ever seen" grille.

it would be interesting to see what happened to the car that grille came from.

The grille on my 34 was pretty gnarly with pits and bent grille bars.I was quoted as much as $3500 to restore my original or buy a Drake Grille for $1900-$2100..I didn neither, I had it restored at Sacramento Chrome and Paint. Its Cosmichromed or spray chrome.Ed did an excellent job for a total cost of $700 [IMG]

the value of that grille is all about where two guys are standing.

if a guy came by and offered someone 2500 for that grille and he didn't sell it that would be where two fools met. one fool offering and one refusing.

I'd hang on to that grille til I got $1800.00 for it. 10 years from now you'll be saying "man, I sold that grille for only $1800.00"

a 34 grille in the garage is better than money in the bank.

honestly, its a decent piece but probably only $350-$450....I can get nice one's for 1K...easily. Repairable rough one's with broken bars go for $250. You really probably wont sell it if you put even $700 on it. Thats my personal experience in buying and selling them....in current times

  11. I was only teasing you Chris about the scratches on your grille. It is really nice and figured you would catch my sarcasm. I know you like the patina on your stuff. I would run it too.
