FYI weight 708lbs, took me a while to find it, came from a FOMOCO book by member responding to a question by me on my "lincoln forum" web site. Thought I would pass it along.

Really? That seems a lot of weight for the 302. I had one once, and I know the thing weighed a tremendous amount, but I just pulled a Lincoln flathead out of a parts car a few days ago and that seemed to me to weigh more. I forget what I did with that 302, I had it as a backup motor for a 368 Lincoln I had years ago.

The Lincoln Y block was very heavy for a conventional design, almost as heavy as the Chrysler early hemi. 708 sounds right compared to 735 for the Chrysler.

A 302 is supposed to be under 500 lbs without accessories, Chev 283 540.

Believe the truck 302 he is talking about is the Lincoln Y version used in late 50's-mid 60's big job Fords, not the small block variety....

I shipped a 368 earlier this year, the weight for engine and pallet, also had some 2X lumber around the oil pan to stabilize the engine, was around 780. That was the shipping company's scales, so not sure of accuracy.

Could easily be 780 with accessories and weight of the pallet especially if it was green hardwood lumber.
