Yep, that one Rik, is one cool DeSoto...a bit too much chop for me tho, but the look is correct. Is that a current build...or from your archives...???

There's a guy on a popular auction site trying to sell a "1952 desoto chop top" but it looks to me more like a '49 Plymouth that someone sold him with a 1952 title.

I'm trying to get a 1929 Desoto! Does that count? I have pics of it in a barn.

kelseydum, that suckers almost identical to my chrysler I just dug out of the barn. Check out my album under my profile. I've been told mine is a '30, but has characteristics of a '29 and a '31. So I have no clue what I'm working with

Thanks guys- lots of good pics and info.

This is the '52 that I was looking at

It has great style coming at you or leaving you but the profile, really frumpy.
The Hemi runs unbelievably quiet and would be a nice motor to have.

Just an old truck, but pretty cool for what it is. Drop a Desoto hemi under the hood and would be a ballsy parts runner.

You asked for ideas on EARLY-'50s DeS FOUR-doors.

THE MASTER, PhotoShopper JamesD , posted this cruiser concept, based on a '53 DeSoto 4DS, over on the popular thread, "The Photoshop thread to end all Photoshop Threads!" As you can see, he didn't even call for the time and cost of a chop. ;)

Here is a sweet business coupe that I just sold for my pal in the classifieds. The buyer has 4 nos fenders for it and is going to bring it back to life. Love it when this happens. ~sololobo~

Photo of Darryl's Coronado, THANKS to AllPar. You can SEE that the '55 was pretty fine, just stock. Mine is slightly customized, but I love them stock, too, just like Darryl's.

THANKS, Hillbilly! (And, I'm one of those, too.) Yup, I missed the connection. My BAD!

Anywho, I think JamesD did a nice job of showing the potential in a 4DS DeS. They are
GREAT cruisers, where you can get all the kids into the back seat, eh?:D

This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!!! Did Desoto really market this truck? Why have I never seen if before????

  30. Thanks losthope. I think my car is turning out pretty cool. Bonez I think you one of my biggest supporters. And it almost got a Carson top. My buddy that helped me cut it keep talking about making it a lift off hardtop with the roof on that is on it. I think that would be very cool.
