Holy shit. Cool. I might not have time to do that process but definitely good to know in the mean time.
nelson name plate in glendale ca. they do acid etch plates with painted backgrounds and alot more. been there since the 40's i belive. they do my plates for my pro-audio speakers i make, and i think they look better than the alliance plates. i choose thicker metal and a deeper etch.they used to make fender guitars amp. labels in the 40's 50' etc.
