In another thread that Ryan started about a Barris 55 vert, I started a list of styling cues that were just nailed by auto designers. I'm not talking about whole cars, but rather just one section or bit of sheetmetal that is just near perfect as is, and usually shouldn't be messed with. I'll start the list with one of the most obvious.....the duece grill. (here's the "rule", if you add something to the list, try to post a photo of that part, sheetmetal, etc.....remember....we're NOT talking about whole cars here.)
I used to have a neighbor that was letting his brother build a car in his shed. I moved and lost touch with the guy, always wondered if he ever finished it. It was a '50 Studebaker bullet nose that he chopped and grafted on the top and rear of a '50 Cadillac fastback. Very post war jet age rocket man style.
'54 Chevy grills and teeth! I know '53s were big for the grill OPENING, but the WHOLE GRILL of a '54 is pretty iconic.
