Does any one know if the front fenders and hood from a 41 Ford will fit a 48 Ford? I'm told they will , and from pictures it looks like the 41/48 body is the same.
I been told it will work but they are narrower then the 48. I found out the hard way when I put a Chassis engineering Mustang II for 1942-48 ford under my 41. I had to go with a narrow wheel with a positive offset. Did do research and found out that the 41 axle is the same as the 40 in width
Thanks for the response. Now that you mention it I bought a 41 front axle for a project because it was 3 inches narrower than the 48 I had.
an old boy in the blackhills put a 47 front clip on his 41 business coupe, was pretty sure he said it bolted right on.
Name dropper. Yes the 41 sheet metal will fit the 46-48. If you use the 41 running boards you will have better luck. If you use the 46-48 boards you will need to cut out about 1" to 1-1/2" out of the bottom of the fenders to get them to match up with the running boards. You will need all the inner sheet metal also. The cowls are the same, and that's about it(maybe the core support). Same car.
