In addition to the Moonshine Festival, of which I posted pics in a seperate thread today, the Ford Galaxie Club of America held their annual meet there as well! Some of the most impressive restorations and neatest factory built cars of all time in my opinion.
I'll be posting more pics tomorrow. Here is a sample of some of the 1960 models on display there.

More Starliners & Sunliners, some of which were Hi-Po 352 & 390 packaged cars.

Not very many 62's at the show for some reason, but lots of 63's! The 427 in this 62 was a '64 motor bored .040". Sounded good!

You'll notice even a 63 Marauder was able to join the crowd. And check out the child's car seat in the 63 convertible!

There will be more Galaxie pics posted in a seperate thread later from the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Museum show that was across the street the same day. The post 64 Galaxies were strong in attendance as well. Who knew even a 70 and 71 could look so good?

  11. The black '60 Fairlane in the first group of photos is owned by Nick Smith from Florida. I found the unrestored car for him right here on the HAMB in the for sale section. It originally was a very nice 6 cylinder car that he has converted to 352-360 specs. My father built the real hipo 352 engine for it and it runs VERY well. I'll just say it's making much more than the factory 360 horsepower rating with a stock lift cam and unported heads. The engine was built within the restaints of a 1960 NHRA rule book for the O/SS class. It also has a set of real Stahl headers custom built by Jere for this car. It is a very detailed '60 Fairlane with many hidden tricks... Nick also owns the black '61 Starliner 390-375 car parked by the Fairlane. It is another perfect car.

I was at the show in Dawsonville. It was one of the best gathering of Galaxie's I've ever seen. Lots of R ,Q and P codes there....

  15. I was there Friday. I was impressed! Even most of the street rod 32 to 40's had Ford motors & that is hard to find at a show....

Love the red 60. It's funny I used to hate the 60 galaxie now I think it's my favorite.

No problem he is a dirt track racing buddy of mine and I have only seen a picture of the car so far. I was just hoping for another look at it.

It wasn't my show, its put on by the Ford Galaxie Club of America. I sure hope they have it here again though. I can't imagine any other location that would draw a nicer selection of Galaxies than what was here!

I sure hope the Galaxie meet is in Dawsonville again during the moonshine festival. If the weather is decent again, I will swap a highway gear into my 64 and drive it next time instead of the family economizer. Its about a 550+ mile drive down there from home. I've driven it down to Pigeon Forge several times during the big "car show" weekends with no problems.
