If I one day manage to get the 32 done I already has another project to work with.
Its a 39 deluxe coupe and it has been mine for something like 18 years.
Sadly it has been broken down in pieces for the last 10 years and I can only blame myself.
Last thing I did was to give the frame some new axles, a rear kick up , boxing plates ,x-members and a new motor/trans. Only thing left to do with the chassie is the exhaust system.

There´s something familiar about that yellow coupe. Was it built in Sweden or at least has it been around over here ?
Anyways, I really enjoy this build, you really have an eye for estethics and a way of making things happen. I´ve seen your earlier projects so i have high expectations for this one.

This really really sucks.Just went 5 steps back.
Picked up the frame today.....and it looks like shit.
Got to grind it all and go to another painter.
Well....atleast it has a good primer.

Damn! Kinda looks like original paint maybe? Just trying to make you feel better. Progress looks great though and the work is incredible. Blown away.

I was wondering how nice of a finish you would get with a quickie paint over the bare sandblasted frame. Did you expect it to be glass smooth? I'd guess a modified/welded frame would require some filler and blocksanding to be what we'd consider smooth. Not a job I could do in a couple days.

Yes, I expected it to be glass smooth. I spended loads of days working with the finish on the bare frame and then it was finest quality sand blasted.
If this guy who painted it was good it should not look like this .

Some pics of how I did my new floor. Started with cutting out the few old pieces from the stock subrails.

Alot of great details...its going to be a 'stunner' fo'real!

  24. Martin,

fantastic build and sensational detail. Will continue to keep an eagle eye upon it for progress. Any more pics on the wheels? Your reborn coupe is turning in a craftsman masterpiece. I dig the detail in the engineering.
U mentioned injection earlier on, hilborn? supercharged ?

    Thanks for sharing.

Got a little stucked on the wheels, they needs to be machined in a mill and the guy who has one that is big enough needs to find time for my toys.
Also waiting for the front rims from Mike Curtis, and they also needs to be shipped so it can take some time =(

I have a "homemade" manifold with 3 vertical throttle bodys that will look a little like vintage 3 carb setup but it is a efi system. The thing is that im not done with it and I think its better to try gettníng the car together and start with a single carb intake.
Then I can have that efi system as a winter-project later on.

Wow! Subscribed. Love to see builds like this. Such incredible detail and thought into everything you touch. The wheels are just over the top. Can't wait to see it all mocked up. I'm a 39 40 guy so of course I would also like to see more pics of that beautiful 39.
