A buddy would like to build this into a hauler, owner won't part with it though.

[IMG]Here's a picture of the truck I just bought a couple weeks ago. I have had the gasser going on 5 years now and have been trying to buy the truck ever since. My website has the story and the history of both vehicles. I am going to try to get updated photos in a week or so. The truck has been sitting outside the last 5 years and paid the price. On the good side, if you want to call it that is, it is in the same condition since the accident 35 years ago. The really cool part is the custom interior that matches the car! Go to my website for the complete story and more pictures.

  4. My old 37 Chevy truck towing the BFD. Truck was sold about 7 years ago now, always thought this was a cool pic:

My COE has a hitch that does haul a trailer, I can also put a lot of junk on the flatbed:

For serious towing I use my OT late model 92 Chevy dually. Lowered suspension and 454 with Whipple supercharger. Also have an OT 88 F-250 4x4 diesel with turbo that works well towing. The COE has a 350 SBC, no comparison to the power of either of the newer trucks.

  5. Here's HAMBer @rich roberts' rig ... a 1941 GMC COE with a Streamlined Car Trailer:

That is what I call eye candy!:D:cool:

Anyway, I saw this set-up, last year at a tractor show, I thought it was awesome. It was a display from a local Kubota dealer who bought the truck new in 51 to deliver new Ford tractors in!

I saw this at Back to the 50's in St. Paul a number of years ago. I wish I had more info.

WOW! That is one wild set-up. I guess the owner found a way to finally be able to haul more than a pack of smokes in a hot rod!

No picture with me but I am working on a 57' F-100 to haul with. I think I will be bagging the rear or at lease air-assist. Already running a 429, C-6, 9" combo w independant front/disks. Should be a great little tow vechicle if I ever figure out how to do the custom hitch I want.

  24. This setup was in one of the rod magazines a few years back. I do remember it stating it has a BBC and from the looks of the exhaust ports I think so.

When I saw it at BTTF's, it had a 385 series Ford in it. Although its a crappy pic, it looks like the distributor is in the front.

Agreed. While most the tow rigs I've seen on this thread are awesome, to me, this one looks like it is the most "realistic" combo as far as something you would have seen in the '60's.
