Well you had better get to work on building one.
    Are you from the Shire??

  13. Sorry mate, this one must've slipped past the keeper. :)

Didn't see it first time around. Let me know when you're in town and I can take you on a bit of a garage tour of the Northern Beaches. Show you my pile of bits that resembles a car and drink beer. I know one or two good places.

My email address is in my profile.

I'm up near Manly, but you can catch the ferry and I can pick you up.

What dates will you be in town?

not quite im from hurstville though its pretty close

my chances on building a car are slim though because i have no garage! it sucks

  15. Don't need to build a car from scratch. Just get something that's running and rego'd and change it to suit your style over time. Doesn't have to be a show car, just something you can cruise in and join in the fun.

Buy a '60s Falcon or Holden, lower it, some whitewalls, polish up the caps or take 'em off and give the wheels a good coat of paint. Give it a good detail, inside and out, clean up the engine bay with some pressure pack paint and you're done. It won't cost you a bomb and you don't have to pull the car off the road.

    You'd be amazed! :)

    $990 whaddaya rekon?

  24. Aedan, $990 for that  I would jump at it! it appears straight and rust free, a good start for a cruiser and what ever you do don't undercoat it, add some scallops or flames or keep it white & flake the roof. I say grab it! :D

Looks good to me from the picture. If this is your first car I suggest you get a pro to look at it. Someone like the NRMA. They will go over the car top to bottom so you really know what you are dealing with. It costs a bit, but if you dont know what you are looking for, then you can be sure you know the real condition of the car. The last thing you want is to have the thing for a month then have to shell out for engine or gear box work, especially at your age (no money and all).
    Good luck.

dont worry mate there's no way i'd primer it, although i think a flaked roof would look sweet. also i would get someone to look over the car first because as you said i dont want to fork out for a new gear box or anything

  28. Aedan, as Monaroau has said have the NRMA go over it, but at $990 it is a damn good buy considering what they are selling for in the trading mags. How many owners has it had? The fewer the owners usually better the car.

Monaroau, too bad you aren't in QLD on the 11th-13th as Wintersun is on that weekend.

jimmy b, in the ad is doesnt say how many owners it has had.
biggest problem being is that my parents are not car people and theydont see the point of me driving and old car, good buy or not
