Event Coverage MUST ATTEND Shows 2012 - What are the places YOU are gonna be in 2012?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by coolstuff, Sep 21, 2011.

  1. I am not sure I will actually make all these, but here is the plan...

    Lonestar Roundup in Austin
    HAMB Drags in Joplin
    Stray Kat 500 in Dewey
    KKOA in Salina

I only made half of these in addition to local stuff this year.

I have again scheduled vacation for Bonneville speed week, Wilmington, OH for ECTA races , no hot rod stuff till I find another project, the Camaro doesn't cut it

  4. Nailed it!!! I agree 100%

  5. These two Midwest events technically are not car SHOWS (and are not on that first postcard of shows) but are on many peoples' 2012 list:

June 16, 2012 Chrome Czars' Hunnert Car Heads-Up at Union Grove, Wi
    www.hunnertcarheadsup.com

    &

July 21 and 22, 2012 Fugitives' Meltdown Drags at Byron, Il
    www.meltdowndrags.com

There is a whole bunch of us that will not miss either of these events.

Traditional hot rod shows are cool, but traditional hot rod drags are even cooler:D

  6. I hope to make it to all of these:

    Grand National Roadster Show

Well, if we can call it a "wish list": Salina KKOA meet, HAMB Drags, and the California Hot Rod Reunion.

Realistically?? Probably won't make it to any of 'em but it's fun to dream....:)

  8. Stray Kat 500 for sure.

    Maybe:
    Lonestar Roundup
    KKOA Leadsled Spectacular in Salina

We are in talks with Cordova - we only got 55 cars out there last year - and I feel it was due to being so close to the Meltdown Drags.
We hope that the cars that support the Heads Up and the Meltdown will support the Cordova event if we have it later in the year.

This way people will have ample time to get their rides back on teh road after breaking them at the Meltdown!!!! ha
    We will keep everyone updated.

I hope we have the same kind of expansion that the Meltdown did with their event - from 50 cars the first year to 125 or 140?
what was the final number this past year?

It was an amazing event fer sure!!!!

I will be there in July!

  20. This year we had 130 or so cars show up IN THE RAIN:D

Fortunately the 2011 Meltdown Drags had much less carnage than 2010 did - something like two or three rear ends and transmissions as well as an engine for 2010... We were surprised at how much bite Byron has!

Good to hear you enjoyed it. We sure did! We can't wait for July 2012!

Trying to scare up a bunch of Dodge and Plymouth (and other early MOPAR brands) guys to show up at Scarry Larrys Jelopy deal at the fair grounds.

Gotta do Milltown, and the gathering of the faithful.

The ones I am planning on are NSRA South Knoxville, Frog Follies Evansville, Shades Of The Past, Pigeon Forge and hopefully Redneck Rumble, Lebanon. That's if Health, Money and Car hold out.
