I have a pair of electroline headlights that have been chromed or rechromed by the last owner I know they also repop them. is their any significant difference? I held a magnet to them and it stuck. is their any telltale signs of their authenticity?

A magnet stuck??? Originals are white metal or pot metal. I am guessing the repops are aluminum.

Take a pic of the inside. I'll be able to tell if they are original or not.

Do they have the lenses or cast over. there were some originals cast over but I'm pretty sure they are not repoping the glass lens.

It looks like those do not have the marker light on top. That is only the second set like that I've seen.

Here are mine. Don't know if you'll be able to compare at all from the pictures or not.

I would say they are originals. There are a couple of clips that look like the originals.

It's a shame it looks like whoever buffed them for plating was a little heavy handed and rounded off the deco lines.

I think these are originals. I picked them up at an auction Saturday. A magnet sticks to them too and the original wiring harness is still attached. I think they are the real deal. They are definitely one cool set of headlights.

    These real or fake?

... didn't think we needed a new thread for the same topic.

Those are real! It's hard to mistake the real ones for cheap sand cast fake ones.

Oh ya, they make fake ones but one way to tell is the detail on the headlight rings. I do not even think the repop ones say electroline on the headlight ring like originals do. It's really night and day difference on the quality.
