thanks again guys! interesting pasadena! figured out why the door was hangin out at the bottom all welded up some filler. but i would much rather have some well used filler then rust half finished ...the rest of the filler. gonna have to pull the door to get around the hinges and pull the lock assembly to get around the handle hole the next mess
new subframe patch put it seam sealed ready for action haha from the top new patch tacked in man this thing is looking good already!
I'd be interested in seeing how you worked in a consistent crown after using the HF step die. Looks really good so far, great thread.
That's going to be killer! I look froward to the chassis fab. because Ill be fitting a deuce chassis to my Model A Tudor this winter!
That is really a nice body to start with, and you are doing a great job of repair. This is gonna be a nice hot rod, hard to beat this 30/32 combo. Best to ya on the project. ~sololobo~
wow thanks everyone!! this one fought me alot but it came out real nice in the end. im about 80 percent done with it for the guys asking how i get the crown in the body line i simply find the center line of the body line .take the jaws out of my vice thus leaving a square that the edges of the metal over lap a taste. hit that center line with a chisel end of a body hammer then move to each side going down the line and it gets you a general shape. a little file work and you are good to go!
Cool. I was thinking you might have hammered formed over a solid bar or something along that line (I always manage to get hammer nicks otherwise). Looks bang on. Thanks again for posting up your photos.
firewall business a few extras maybe the cleanest heater hole i have ever seen goooone electrical hole .... alsoooo gone
Cool project! I just bought one too. Looks like I'm not the only one who likes a Model A roadster on Deuce rails. Alot of people looked at my post just in a couple days. I'm trying to clean up all (some!) of the jobs I have on the go around the house before winter sets in, then I'm going to dive in. I'll be watching the progress of yours!
Damn Flop!!! That metalwork kick's ass. Glad to see you're savin' another one. Keep up the good work!
thanks everyone! onto the passenger side this side is way more solid in the subrail dept some cement and red oxide type filler sandblasted primed and seamsealed the few pin holes i welded up begining of the patch after the step tacked in finished up
