$38,000??? Sounds way too high for what you are describing.

Based on the pictures, I'd say that's a fair price. That is assuming there's not a lot of hidden bondo, the doors and front end are steel, and the engine and drivetrain are good. Brakes aren't all that expensive in the grand scheme of things. The main thing though is it depends on what you want out of the car. If you're looking for something to turn into a gasser style car, then that's a pricey starting point. If you're happy with a nice looking driver, then that's a resonable price. I've seen old clapped out coupes that needed tons of body work and a complete drivetrain go for $20K. Even if you could find a project car for less money, you probably couldn't build it like that for what he's asking.

I know where there is one too for that price but it's a total disaster.

Seems like a fair price for a steel coupe. Glass pro street style cars go that high. In today's economy with a bag full of money you might get it in the low 30's. Good Luck

now that the photos are up, I would say that is a good starting point.

if you want a gasser, take a pass.

if you want a street car, it sure does look like a nice start.

certainly there are things to do to make it more suitable to the style you desire, but if it is reasonably close, take a shot at it.

I can testify that it takes $25k to buy a clapped out steel body sans drivetrain and interior. But if you add another $70k and a bunch of time, you can have something special!

That's a way fair price for that car. I've seen rolling bodies go for more.

iseen with my own 11/2 eyes a 40 willys coupe that didnt have a straight non rusty spot on it.and i mean every part of that car need patching in a BIG way. frame was rusted in to 2 pieces.no rearend or front end.holes in the roof, get the idea, go for 22,000 us of a dollars!! i would have been afraid to hit it with a soda blaster, it was that bad. i know i could never affordto buy a steel willys or a $10,000 outlaw body,so i bought a cheaper brand of 41 willys glass body. $2500. for the body and im collecting parts for the build now.i tell myself this thing is gonna be badass its so lite.and if it was avvailable back in the day they would have used one just like it.makes me feel better about it being glass but in my heart i still want a steel one.but my wallet says not in this life time.think about this, $25,000 for a body that is gonna need lots of work plus everything else invovled in getting a willys on the road lokin good.$80,000 to $100,000 for a car.as much as i love them thats out of control.but the market seems to say it ok so i quess ill have to pretend with my glass ass willys.so back to your question, after seeing what steel is bring nowdays that is just about inline give or take a few grand.
