Do you refer to the number behind the front wheel??
    It says " UCWI 16.000"

Thought it had something to do with the total weight !!!

The Darling Co. of Bronson, MI, was apparently a manufacturer of commercial display fixtures, among other products. Look at that lineup!

Looks as though ops are temporarily suspended while the two fellas on the pole rearrange the phone or telegraph line.
Anybody wanna venture a guess on the year? I love to see pix of these old steam traction engines in action. The next
best thing is to see them at work at a present-day steam show.

Taken at Aledo, IL, in 1912, this photo shows Prof. James Damrel (Damrell?) driving a team of wolves from Seattle
to NYC. One wonders what this was to demonstrate, eh?

Beautiful specimen of aeronautical design and engineering from a long-gone era. The Pan Am "flying boat" Dominican
Clipper in what appears to be a later-'30s photo. Built by Sikorsky, this plane served from 1936 to '41 when it was lost
    to an accident.

Yes, that is the Tucker Armored car.
The government didn't like the car, but loved the turret.

I.C.C.=Interstate Commerce Commission. They were in charge of policing interstate commerce, the movement of goods or people for hire across state lines. Back then, the legal procedures were very time consuming and expensive to get issued a new number. One had to prove that no existing company provided the for hire service that you wanted to provide. An alternative was to purchase an existing certificate from a closed or about to close company. Since this looks like a 4 diget number, it was an old certificate transfered to them. But they were more than likely not a for hire transportation company, so really did not need ICC.

edit: UCWI 16000, I don't have a clue, so disregard the above:)

Some car companies have their product made into model kits. Here is some info which shows AMT actually had the rights to produce the real car.

I believe that this photo and the previous Goat photo were taken during the great Goat power (GP), Wolf Power (WP) and Horse Power HP debate - 1GP = 1/16 HP _ Uhh I forgot where I was going with this I got caught up in the math - I was looking for the "X" value when I figured she was gone and I should just move on with my life
