I saved this axle from certain smelter death, i have no idea what it is but i would like to use it under a custom bodied speedster.

The axle is 51 1/2" king pin to pin, and the spindles have a 1" drop. The ends are long and i think a 6 or 7 inch drop could be had. The mount at the axle has two threaded holes on either side of the centering hole and it has a slight arc, it's not bent....any ideas on the year and make:confused:

Teens early 1920's, are the spindles and steering arms one forgeing or are the arms removable?

Looks like some sort of low speed implement axle. No ackerman, no camber in the kingpin, and no provision for brakes. Maybe a farm cart or similar.

  7. I woud agree with badshifter... The axle may have been straightened out for some reason in the past, but its hard to fake the lack of KPI in the spindle itself.

If its off a car it is VERY early indeed. Late model Studebaker Conestoga maybe???
