Looking at maybe purchasing a 1947 Ford F1 truck and a 1948 Ford 2ton Truck.
The 1947 Ford Is a 1/2 ton F1 seris. Hydraulic brakes. It is a complete roller truck no motor still has trans with nice very workable complete sheet metal. What can a guy value this truck at? Or what is cab, bed with tailgate value very good fenders also. What parts could be used on a Av8 coupe project?

Second truck is a 1948 Ford 2 ton with a stuck 59AB flathead motor missing 2 spark plugs. The cab is salvageable but has more rust. What would the going rate be on a truck like this stuck flathead but complete and a good cab?

Any help is appreciated I am thinking $300 or less on the 2 ton and not sure on the pickup?

    H.A.M.B Price Guide...

  5. If it's an F-1, it can't be a '47. A '47 looks the same as '42-'46 and has the "Jailbar" grille. The F-1 series was built '48-'52. The '48-'50 models look alike, '51-'52 came out with different grille and hood, different dash, and big back window. Floor shift was standard and column shift optional up through mid-1950 model run. late '50 through '52 has column shift standard.

Good judge would be the HAMB classifieds. Good true, real world values. Not the Eslay gold pricing!

I know parts off them are a slow sell. The bed with good fenders is a decent piece, the cabs, grilles ect, I wouldn't pay much.

Av8 coupe. That's what I'm building and trying to find the following which are used on AV8s quite alot (old ford PUs melt away up here):
    Pedals
    Crossmember the pedals bolt to
    front shock mounts
    Steering column/box

Neither of these is a '48. Both are '42-'47. Ford didn't use the "F-1" or "F-2" designation prior to the '48 models.

The pickup (1/2 ton) looks pretty nice and complete. The cheaper you get it the better obviously, but when I was looking at those trucks that one may easily go $1K or more. The tonner has a motor and cab for you. The trans is a heavy duty 4 speed -- usable but not desirable, it has not syncros in it. I would say the stuck engine is worth $50 without being able to check it for cracks. There isn't much else on the heavy truck that is worth much.
