Here is a picture of the Crosley Wagon raced by Joe Furguson as a B/A powered at this time frame by a 426 Hemi.
It sat in his barn on his farm from 1970 till 2001 when I found him and the car and bought it.
I have since sold the car.

Here is a pic of Merrill Frost's Opel. I'll have to see if I can get some pics scanned in. My Dad has pics of a bunch of cars at Humboldt and Cedar Falls(?) in the late '60s. There are pics of the "taxi" Anglia, Chuck Ostrich's purple Hemi Barracuda, an early Camaro that says Main Motors, a early/mid '60s Plymouth that says "The Wedge", Johnny Cort's Thunderbolt, Merrill Frosts Willys and several more.

That would be great. Frost's Opel was killer. Always loved that car.

I grew up at Eddyville in the 80's. Started working for them when I was 13, doing tech inspections and running ladders in the tower. (for $25 a day!) I quit when Carl Moyer bought them out. Then went back to work on the starting line somewhere around 99-2000. Don't go but maybe one every other year now.

I live in Oskaloosa, 10 miles from the Eddyville strip(1/8 mile). My son test & tuned there today!02 C5 Corvette street car LS1 w/nitrous 6.70's on spray thru the mufflers & Hoosier street tires! I went to the Torquefest instead. (AHOTROD- when you lived in Osky, your wife was his 1st baby sitter! I think you worked at Arnolds Motors)

In post 106. The Anglia named Toxic may be a later version of the one Vern Moats owned.

here is what i know about the track, it comes from there webpage,

    Track Information

Cedar Falls Raceway was constructed in the 1960's and originally known as Neita Raceway (North East Iowa Timing Association). Since then, Cedar Falls Raceway has been under IHRA and NHRA Sanctions and is currently a NHRA Member Track.
The track is 60' wide x 4000' long as it a 1/4 mile asphalt drag strip with 350' concrete launch pads.

You have to remember I took these pictures with my mom's Instamatic so they are not the greatest.

I never saw Mr B run worth a flip. Seems like it was lacking in the traction and go straight department.

Here is a composite I stuck together. On the very right, in the distance, you can see a gas station. It was located on I-80. There are a bunch of houses planted in those fields now.

I'm pretty sure the two Toxic Anglia's are different cars. Here is another picture taken at the same time. Vern Moats is running against the green Anglia.
The hoods, headers and scoops are different on the two Toxic cars.

Here is the car on the return road.

I had a good shot of Vern's Anglia Toxic but when he crashed his alcohol funny at the Gators I went up to visit him and left a few pictures in the hospital room.

I thought all of us from Iowa moved here to Arizona, not Florida! I grew up 15 miles form the Humboldt track. I blew my 65 Buick Gran Sport up on that track. Great place and family owned. I visit every year when I go for the ABATE motorcycle rally which was in Humboldt but is now in Algona.

AZ or FL, it was all about leaving the snow behind.

Does anyone remember a blue chopped 40-41 Willys PU? I think it had a stainless steel box and stock type rear fenders. The windows may have been tinted blue as well. A guy in Marshalltown had the car in the late 70's, maybe early 80's. I'd love to see a picture of it again. I never saw it out of his shed and always wondered what happened to it.
