Small update today! Found a old oilfilter at a swapmeet and painted it (yellow AC style) and mounted it on the manifold. Looks cool! Im not sure if Im going to install it yet, I have heard much things about these filters (not fullflow etc), but I like the look. Here is some pics...

I made a custom bracket that bolts to the Offenhauser manifold.

Everything painted and finished. Just waiting on some AC decals to put on.

Nice car man. I know people, family and friends, who are into those old Chevy bombs. Myself included and you are right that the oil filter only does a partial job but it doesn't hurt to install it on your motor. Most people like the looks of it. However those old AC oil filters here in California have a blue can and a orange top. Fram filters have a Orange can and a black top. The safety star that you have belongs at the rear license plate and is used as a extra brake light.

Thats true about the colors. But I like the yellow contrast under the hood. :)

Here is some other colors and cans, found at Stovebolt:

Thanks and your all have right!! It needs fenderskirts and lowering. Thats next on the "to do list". I like the paint as it is, original patina looking. But these cars look great in shiney paint also so it's a hard choose. I will roll with the paintjob like it is for awhile...

Where can I find pics on diffrent rear airbag setups? Any pics or good links?

The Gambino stepnotch seems to work best, but I dont really like the look. I have seen some C notching the frame only. But Im not sure if it will be low enough and will the bags have any room left (between frame and body/trunkfloor)?

Time for a update. I have invested in a air ride system and started to mount the airbags in the front. The plan is to fabricate and get the air ride working, then pull everything down (frontend, axle etc) for blasting and painting. Will also paint floor etc. Already time to choose body color for the future. I like the original green or maybe a candy green paint? Hmmm....Will be a cool ride when done, I think! Here is some new pics for ya all, it's getting there...

Moving out the 49 truck, time for the Fleetline!

    Oh yeah! Wrenching time...

Removing a-arms and start cuting for bag clearence

The complete digital air ride system I bought from Per "The Swede". Nice stuff!

Added a new flat plate in the bottom for the bag to rest on.

I moved out this plate for more bag clearing.

    Made a huge diffrence!

    Airlift dominators 2500

Trying bag. I made a cup (100mm) and used a pipe (total 245mm) with the threaded shock end on top.

All done! Welded gussets on the back of the tower to make it stronger, I also made them bolted so I can pull down the frontend in the future!

    Will soon mount bumpstops.

    Lots of lift

I think I will pull out the a-arm again and move/weld the spindle mount up, to get 2 inch more drop!
Lowering sickness, starts to kick in...

Okey, so the front is almost bagged and done, just some smaller details left, and that will be fixed in the next few days. I wanted the front even lower then before, so I have been getting the a-arms "stepped" for more lowering. Now the steering/tierod bars is 1 inch from the frame when slammed. I also bought a set of wire wheels, here is some new pics...

Dont forget to check out the Swedish bomb site I and some friends working on: www.originalbombers.com (send me an e-mail with pics on your car and I will put them up on the website, [email protected]).

Mocked up. When the lowering is all done and tested I will tear it all down again for media blasting and painting. Airlift 2500 bags

Good job, looks like it all went pretty smooth. Its not easy building your own kit like that.

    Congrats.

Your "bomba" is so thoroughly southwest American, I can't imagine what it must be like in Sweden! It must be like the Twilight Zone! (I know there are lots of cool rides there, however!)

Do you have cruising buddies with similar rides?
    (Just curious.)

Thanks for the kind words man! Yeah, thats my vision, to get the car to fit in on Whittier BLVD. :) No it's just me building a bomb here were I live, dont know anyone else who are into the same style around here. Im going my own way, lowriders is something I always have been intrested in. All my friends in the same age (25yrs) are not intrested in cars or anything with motor. They are intrested in golf, xbox360 and iphones and other boring shit! The most people around here dont "get it".

But there is many cool cars in the rest of the country, but it's mostly hotrods and original cars here. Nice rides for sure, but thats not my thing. The lowrider scene is very small. I hope that going to change in the future...or I have to move too San Jose. ;)

FRAME OFF RESTO!! Got some more done this weekend. Me and my dad lifted the body of the frame this Saturday. And I have been scraping undercoating off all frontend parts (fenders, innerfenders, grillsupport, radom sheetmetal) and yesterday I drove it to a Mediablasting shop nearby. Now I can focus on the chassi and later start on the body. More to come...
