I rolled out of the garage at 7am and made the trip down to south Jersey for the nostaliga drags at Atco. 220 mile round trip for me and I made 2 passes down the track. I was amazed at the turn out. Their were so many cars both racing and showing. Lots of cool cars in the show. I have to admit I was disappointed that so few guys raced in the 'street rod' class. I expected to see more. anyway here are a few pics. I'll get several more up later. thanks
this 34 was my fav car there. he shoulda raced it! An older gentleman owned this nice coupe. ... and he was racing it. running 15's with that baby Hemi (291 I think) and he was havin a blast. Cutting .040 lights too!!! I'm posting this pic again because I just love it. It's funny I had just been wondering why you don't see more 39-40 ford gasser style cars. My dad tells me it's cause they were heavier and more expensive than their Willys counterparts. Sure would to have loved to see this one run. I have a few more to post in a bit. thanks
Awesome turnout. This event always packs them in when the weather is good. Next year I'm going to leave the Gasser home and race the street rod to support the street rod class.
more... this t-bird was KILLER. neat to see it racing too. the 'crapache'. running 12.2's!! Did anyone see boss hydro run? I think it was still on the trailer when I left... Especially nice This thing was sooo clean. Widow Maker's coupe. Running 12.4s ( had some problems with the tunnel ram, but it looked cool!)
Neat pics, thanks for the report (that 59 chevy truck has the same wheels, the same color, as my kid has on his 59 truck)
