I love this build! Keep up the work...This truck is amazing...love the white chasis...love the 3 window...It sounds like you have made your mind up on the white body, but your from italy, why not british racing green (ferrari green)? I love that color and it would look bad ass witht the white!

I need to do a rebuild on my Orange 53, but my work is no where near that clean.

That would look cool green with a white chassis and engine compartment. It would definately stand out!

Great job. I really like how clean and organize your frame is. It looks better than factory.

Having lived in Naples back in the late 70's...I can really appreciate what your doing there. If it were a alfa ...sure no big deal. But a Chevy! You really can not run down to the local Napa or junkyard for parts.

Hi RatPin, yes, you read that right :).
I bought this truck for $ 25000 including transport costs to Italy.
Then I started work shown in my thread. Just to give an example, in the next few days I have to order the new Bedside. They cost $320 each but for them to get to my house the cost becomes $1.670 for both.
The same goes for the rest. For paint and upholstery takes about $8.000.

As you can see $ 60.000 is not a sum impossible to achieve, but easy to overcome:)

  17. One question, how thick were the plates you used to box the front part of the frame? 1/8" or 3/16"?

Hi 65Standard, the plates are 3/16" that came with the Heidts front crossmember.

Many thanks KillBilly, thanks also to 56 Frame Dragger.
I'm doing my best and I hope to finish next year.

    Many thanks to all. [IMG]

  22. Thanks. I will be getting the front cross member from Heids Hotrods too, they are local to my area. I just needed to know the plate size because I will be boxing my entire frame.

I am also interesting in your steering setup. Mustang rack with stock column? Like to see how you route this.

No, I think to install a Flaming River or Ididit or CCP column with column shift. Making the frame boxing is a great job. Thanks

  26. Orula, the mustang II spindles you're using, are they standard height or 2" drop spindles?

Hi, they are 2" drop splindes :).

  28. Orula, are you going to weld up or plug up those unused holes in the toe board. Mainly the floor starter hole, the clutch rod hole, the parking pedal hole, and the throttle linkage hole?

I will be welding up all of those holes on my '53. I am only keeping the brake pedal hole and will make a new hole for the throttle cable once I figure out what I am doing for that setup.

  29. Nice truck, gotta scare the snot out of Fiats
