  1. im debating running these, gearhead1952 found em digging around. he thinks they're off a 49-51 ford (any help on that would be awesome).

anyway, im in between on em, sometimes i think they look a little big, then i like em...im on the fence here. if it helps, the truck will be painted a dark satin burgundy. so lets hear it, love em or hate em

a picture of the whole truck, with the front fenders would make it easier to say yes or no.

I guess it looks OK, but I'm a bias ply guy so I guess I'd rather see some pie crust slicks out back and something to match in front ??? Looks a little "pro street" ish

looks good, but i love white walls bias, bet they would make you truck look killer once its painted.

  7. I like the Ford dog dish caps. How did you mount them to those wheels?

Sorry carbed87...not quite clear. You want opinions on what?...tires?...hubcaps? And so, what do you think might be too big? And which dimension...height?...width?

    The caps look good.

The tires don't look too wide, but too short. I like tall tires.

Maybe you meant the whole combo?

For god's sake, please don't put white walls on it. Late 40's-early 50's trucks were never that fancy.

no i was talking about the caps themselves. it may not look like it, but the tires are actually 28" tall

If you could mount those center caps without tape they would look alot better than the spider caps. They need some bling. I like the big lip on those wheels! They dont look like factory wheels ive ever seen. Looks after market.

  12. I think the caps look pretty good on your truck. Id definately run them on it.

  13. I like it wayyyy better with the caps. It'd look even better with black wall bias tires.

    Gross.

I like the Ford caps on the OP's deal, not so much the late model holed wheels.

  18. i was wanting to make a wheelcover that would be the same shape as the rim face, just covering the holes. i hate the holes too. thats why they're still black

looks good , I like the black wheels as well . I would make the rears fatter but that is me and I have issues

  22. looks good! I have the 49-50 caps on my '51 shoebox. a little different I think and solid ss, not painted.

  23. It comes down to what you like, I like them, I would paint them the same red as the hub caps and put white walls on her, would look old school but the holes would add a little modern touch.
I would probably lift the rear 1/2 to 1 inch to add a little rake, but that's just me and I like old school.
She is one mighty fine looking ride.

    Waz.

I like the caps, put on some trim rings also, keep the black paint and let the black holes dissappear

I think they look fine, and as mentioned look like '56's...
IMHO wide whites always are awesome on these old girls, but not when lowered like yours is....
Black with those caps, or similar will look great!
Keep us posted on what you do.....
    Cheers.......
