What your asking for is the "compression hieght" of the piston...
    ...Rod length + 1/2 dist of stroke = A
    ...Block deck height = B
    ...B - A = piston comp height...

you know i thought about that after i posted it.

finding info on these engines is difficult, if i had the rod length and deck height handy i would simply do what you described. if i had an engine i coud take apart and take measurements of that would work, but dont have one yet. im looking at car with one in it.

it does look promising, summit has piston in 3.800 bore with a comp dist from 1.090 all the way to 1.855 in fairly small increments.

im cheap, and i dont want to pay $500 for cast egge or mystery pistons. not to mention afriend of mine bought a set from egge for his lincoln and he sent them back because they were so terrible.

You may be able to find the engine build spec online somewhere. Try searching through OEM stuff, or contact someone like Federal Mogel...hope this helps

The 317 & 341 are not listed in a 1974 book but a 368 is 2 1/64 and list the same wrist pin for all three.

By the way, Egge kind of specializes in stuff like yours depending on how odd the motor is, they would know for sure. Then take that bore / comp height and try to find a match...

Its very possible that all 3 are the same just different bore size. Call Egge to be sure.
( also find out pin size )

well, i would think the 368 would be different because of the stroke difference unless they used different rods,

    Whats Egge want?
Here's some from the back of the book.
    L2098F 3.91 2.087 CD .912 pin flat top Ford tractor,ind
    L2199F 3 7/8 2.025 CD .927 pin .320 dish checker,chevy,studebaker
    L204F 3 15/16 2.170 CD .989 pin flat top chevy tr, white 366 1966-78

    317 3.8 bore .912 pin CD (2 1/64 + .16/2 = 2.0956) everything else being the same
    341 3 15/16 bore .912 pin
    368 4 bore .912 pin CD 2 1/64
maybe that's why only the 368 lists a height

the egges are $550 i think, but i wouldnt buy from them.theyve been kindof a 4 letter word since the 60s. even recently, a friend of mine just redid a flathead with egge full float bearings, and babbitt mains. it was junk and cost about three times what it was worth. the bearings were made in china!

my friend bought a set for his lincoln when he was running the panamericana, and he said that if he had run them as they were the top wouldve seperated from the skirt.

i dont support that kind of business.

that being said, chevy 261 pistons would work there a bit on the small side, but if i could get them in .100 over it would equate to .050+

www.coasthigh.com Coast High Performance sells a stroker kit with a Scat crank, forged Probe pistons, moly rings, Cleavite bearings, etc. to pump it up to 408 cubes. They also carry gasket kits, balancers, and a lot of other stuff for these engines. Don't know if this what you seek, but it is one road to the hot rod Lincoln.

holy stroker kit batman! well, i dont think i will be stroking one, but id like to hop up one of the truck motors with the 3.66 steel crank.

im lookin into a cheap 1952 lincoln that i most likely will buy, its got the 317 in it and will prolly need rings. and it would be nice to find replacement pistons that i wont have to bore the block for, and dont cost as much as the car will.

i acnt seem to find anything lincoln related on that site, i think the 408 kit is for a windsor motor.
