primed the hood sides today...... had to move them inside after wet sanding in the 95°+ heat..... too hot for paint. cooled it down with a bit of A/C and shot them with the air running.

Texas in the summer. ain't it a bitch?

i ordered the paint from TCP Global, San Diego. www.tcpglobal.com
searched around for a Urethane flat (satin) black so i would not have to do a coat of satin clear over black primer, which was my first idea. thought Eastwood would have it...... no. got the 85°- 95° slow reducer and overall catalyst. was really surprised how well it shot in this heat.

looks like we have good taste in louvered 34 deck lids. very cool

i'm shooting it this week..... prep at night... 90° !!%$#&**^# then up early and get it done before the heat catches up. if i drag it out any longer, the next challenge will be rain and a return of humidity. at least now it is a "dry heat":) wish me luck.

then i can paint the gennies, mount the tires, etc., etc. and get back to some fall driving.

i went ahead and shot the wheels...... finally got all of them in last week. it was 70° at 7 AM and by the time i got the second coat on at 9:30 the temp had climbed to 95°!!!! i am amazed how well they came out.

car has been sitting for two weeks all masked and ready, keep finding little flaws now that it will be at least two more weeks for this heat wave to end might as well fix 'em.

ALMOST a MONTH to the day.... she is finally in "paint" and out of the masking paper.... happened sooner than I thought it would. saw a window in the weather and decided to go for it. interesting finish. had the front tires mounted/balanced today and the HURST slicks are gonna be in WED!! waited for cokers for 3 months and ordered the Hursts, which i know are going to be better anyway, and less than 2 weeks to wait, will mount, balance those and put on the baby moons and see what else. car started right up after sitting in paper for almost two months!!! (that never happens!) isn't the battery supposed to go dead in the body shop? my husband took it for a victory lap and it did great. can't wait to get in a bit of fall driving now.

HURSTS came in today!! and i rushed over to have them mounted, they came out really great looking... THANKS to the HAMBers that recommended Cody and his dad.

took a pass out on the highway at almost dark..... had taillights, haven't re-wired the headlights.... sitting on a stool, no seats installed yet, no seat belts, but i did remember to bring my insurance card and drivers license. made it

It's my third one in 30 years..... they don't POP 'em out of glas yet!

all of them have been ex-track cars..... this latest one had a "donut" on the passenger rear quarter, was obviously beaten nearly to death!

Thanks all for the nice comments. We've been working pretty hard on it all spring/summer it's future life may be a full frame-off. just want to enjoy the fact that it runs for now!

I am proud to be in the company with so many gorgeous HAMB 34s.... mine's just a driver
