For those who think Bonneville ends when the show leaves the State Line. The Speed Demon streamliner went 462 out the back today but was unable to make a return run, Still, single engine, two wheel drive. Sneaking up on 500

    "Hot damn!" I say.

  3. Was that with the C engine?

  4. The 347CID engine. Running for an FIM record at Cooks Shootout. 500 is getting closer boys and girls!

They seem to have had lots of issues with tranny, driveline and rear end these last couple years.

With a mile average of 457 mph!

As stated single engine, two wheel drive, turbocharged 347 cu. in., & damn fast.

History in the making. Let's see if they can put a two way pass together tomorrow.......

Thats really impressive! How wide is the car, is there a website with the info on the car? Nice to see the Boy Scouts working on a 500MPH project.

  8. It's Poteet & Main's car ... lotsa pics & info on the Speed Demon and Camel Toe Racing sites.

  9. Not today's 462 mph run ... but here's a video of the 426 mph run last month @ Speed Week:

Looks like an LS series GM engine with at least one turbo....impressive indeed.

Almost looks like something that would come out of NASA. Good luck to Ron and George. I have talked to Ron before regarding work and Speed Demon(we are both in the rebar biz) and he seems to be a good guy.

Amazing video, the split screen takes you a lot of places at once. That is as close to a ride as I will ever get and it left me weak. Thanx for such a big time thrill setting in my man cave. Amazing those big gonads can fit in that snug drivers chamber. Thank you! ~sololobo~
