I've done some research trying to find some good price guides for older cars. The only decent one I could find is http://collectorcarmarket.com. You can also search for past eBay adds under the advanced search by checking "Completed Listings". Of courese keeping a constant eye on Craigslist works. Anyone have any other methods / price guides referances?
NADA but I firmly believe price guides are useless on cars over 10 years old. Too many factors come into play after that.
I agree to a certain extent. I think its easier to price original un-molested cars. If you price something that been customized you really have to do a more rigorous comparison like home appraisers do and value / de-value the car based on the the various characteristics of the car.
IMHO, NADA greatly overstates values and CollectorCarMarket tends to do the opposite. I like Old Cars for pre-65 cars and Black Book CPI for muscle cars.
