What a project! You really think we care about what your welds look like? The end results over ride any little minor flaws you may think you have and your project is over the top period. You have not only put a new concept into hot roding you have made it for family. What better way is there? how is the back held up while in use ?

my new suburban has a cable that when tippin the rear seat bottom it un locks the back rest to fold .... ?????

Thanks for all of the positive feedback. I do these kinda projects for my own satisfaction...but it's good to know someone else gets it.

I was wondering if anyone was going to catch that. I had forgotten to take pictures of that part before I tore the truck apart. I wanted to use folding arms similar to a step ladder or card table, but I couldn't work out the geometry so that they would lay flat when the seat was folded down. I finally gave up and just made some stainless bars that atach with early Ford closed car windshield nuts. Kinda trying to keep with the factory feel.

i am in total awe!!!!!!!!! such a simple idea and such brillant execution. sir your work is top notch.i envy you! and im jealous as hell lololol!!!

 

I actually have to undo both upper and lower nuts...as there is very little room "in the gap" when it folds down...



I had hoped for something more "automatic"...but it really doesn't take long to undo 4 thumb screws.
