My sedan in front of the Gemini Giant in Wilmington, IL. And the Ambler Becker service station in Odell, IL. Both were taken on a little Route 66 trip after the Pileup a few years ago.

my Fairlane in a light rain in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, just north of Fort Sill, Oklahoma in the fall of 1988. I'm not sure why tire combo I was running but I love how it sits in this shot.

If you look closely at the wheels you will see a set of early 1960s Cal Custom three blade spinners and lug nut covers. each spinner had three holes drilled in every blade. I gave $10 for the set that year at a garage sale and spent months rummaging through salvage yards putting together a set of mismatched and flaking chrome wheels while making $3.75 an hour at Pizza Hut. I found the last one in a salvage surrounded by the Haliburton complex in Duncan, Ok........a nest of wasps already knew it was there though. those things stung the crap out of me. the salvage yard owner felt bad for me and said, "man, take it - no charge. my wife's allergic to them things. you may have just saved me a doctor bill."

I traded the car off in October of '88 and when I got it back in February of 1996 only two chrome rims remained and the spinners were long gone.

Nice car. Man, I hated Fort Sill. Took Basic Training and AIT there in '76. But I enjoyed getting away to the Wichita "mountains".
