I think it's stop motion but not claymation. My guess is that the car exploding scene was done in reverse. I can't imagine how much time this must have taken!

Anybody else notice the clean (new?) Bantam body in the background as the '26 was metamorphising? It had to be almost brand new! That probably puts this movie about '30-'33 or so.
