I was afraid to open this thread.... That is my favorite RPU, and was scared to see what this was all about.

Absolute best idea I've ever seen. Period. Not to mention, perfectly executed.

    Great job man.

  2. Now that my friends is using the old noggin for something besides a hat rack, great job of design and fabrication..................

Glad you all liked this...all of you that have done a tech post know that it takes a considerable amount of time to put these things together...but it's good to see the effort appreciated. It's what makes this place go around.

    Now to answer some questions...

The beads in the floor pan are all Ford...I just had to round off the ends when I split it in half. I made a crude pair of dies to hammer in the factory like rounded end.

I just spent about 3 minutes on this scrap piece...but you should get the idea...

    And some more...

I always say..."Keep hands and feet inside the ride at all times."

Which is kinda funny because my daughter just asked me..."Dad, when you get the roadster pickup painted...and the paint is all dry...can we go roller coaster fast in it again?" :)

Slow...real slow. I am building a frame and body cart...which will also be a rotisserie. In typical Neal fashion...it'll take me a year or more to get it painted.

My vision had shiny paint all along, so it had to happen. I figure it was out there long enough in bare metal though.

It's a 41-48 Ford car tank. It does seem like it was made for it. I really like how so many 28-48 Ford parts all "click" together when you just try.

if my grand kids see this they are going to throw stones at me for not putting a rumble seat in my '34 Cab. Great idea, I down loaded the pic of you and your family because the smiles say it all: family first, did you build any room in it because the kids will grow?

Yes...that is why I added the toe kick under the cab. I am 6'2" and there is no way my long legs would fit with out that. My brother is 6'4" and he has ridden back there and done just fine...atleast for a trip across town.

So.... What color are you going with?

I'm guessing Mom didn't know about the "Roller Coaster Fast" ride in the truck? :D

NealinCA... your posts are always great to read.

Typically, if someone said they were gonna put some kinda "jump seats" in the bed, you wouldn't think it'd be such a great idea.

But, you pulled it off...very tastefully...

This was the "Roller Coaster Fast" ride...which was just up and back the driveway. It just sounded fast to her because of the open pipes...

Here's a little slide show of the deconstruction...

It will be dark green, like the engine and wheels, with shiny black on the suspension, firewall, dash, etc.
