Can anyone ID the wheel covers on this 1962 C10? As I understand it, full wheel covers were not a factory option in '62 and I'm trying to figure out where these may have come from. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7035149...in/photostream Someone told me he thinks they're JC Whitney. If so, what vintage would they be? Can anyone say for sure? Also, does anyone sell the correct, repro '62 dog dish (in chrome/stainless)? Are they even reproduced? If not, any ideas where a guy could find a set of NOS ones? Ebay, right? Thanks!
If they have a waffle background, they're aftermarket If they have planets with rings around them, they're Oldsmobile Fiesta, 1956. I ran a set on my '53 F100 for a dozen years. I can't tell from the photo. For future wheelcover identification, bookmark www.hubcaps.org
58 JC W catalog has four pages of wheel covers, about a third of which are flippers of one type or another.
No, they're not 55. Go to the link I included in my previous post and look at both 55 and 56 Olds Or go to eBay and type 1955 Oldsmobile wheel cover and then 1956 Oldsmobile wheel cover and you'll see.
We used to call them olds flippers, when I was a teen ager. You had to have em,or dodge lancers to be cool.
Hey Tommy, do you have a better picture of the "one piece spiders" part. I think that's what I have. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=504403
They are 56 Olds Fiesta/Starfire hubcaps or an aftermarket look alike. I have an original one and an aftermarket one on eBay right now. They are item numbers: 200648613857 & 200648613863. The original has three stampings of what looks like the planet Saturn The aftermarket one has a different design. There are other aftermarket ones with a different background designs. Hope this helps.
