What fords came with 13" 5 lug wheels? I have a falcon that was converted to 5 lug and the 14"s dont fit very well in the wheel well(on top of being ugly) I tried searching 13" wheel on ebay and couldnt come up with any ford bolt patern that were 5 lug. any ideas?

I am not sure if the V8 Falcons had 13 or 14 inch rims but I think that they did have 13 and were 5 lug.
This source says that the 63 Falcon sprints had 5 lug 13 inch wheels and I think there were more with 13 inch 5 lug wheels.

  3. My 1961 Ford Econoline van came stock with 5 bolt, car pattern (4 1/2 inch circle), 13 inch steel rims. My dad used them on home made boat trailer axles. The rims are out there, they just are really hard to find!

13" 5 luggers were common on the first year Falcon and Comet that came with V8's-1963.
Some Econolines had 'em as well.
Those are really rare though and are a very sharp wheel to boot!

their wheels only go to 14" homey..unless Im missing something. If your talking actual custom made to order wheels I dont have that kind of scratch. Im just a poor white kid from the southside of Chicago:D

Actually :) a little known fact is that Shasta campers back in the late 60's and early 70's used a factory Ford 13 inch rim with the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern ( like a 63 V8 Falcon ) ...

You might find some around a old camper place.
I had a small Shasta camper years back and I needed to replace a bent rim. V8 13 Falcon rims were hard to find ... but I bought 3 Shasta rims for 15 dollars total. Same exact rim :D

If memory serves. and that IS questionable, the '62 Fairlanes with the 221 cu in V8 (first year for that engine) had 13" 5 luggers. I have a '63 1/2 falcon Sprint and it has 14" 5 lug with factory wire wheel covers. They COLD have been switched sometime for Mustang units, but I do not know that, one way or the other.

What might be feasible, if your are set on 13" wheels, Covairs '65 up used 13" 5 lug, though they were 4 3/4" bolt circle and should be easier to find. Nobody has any qualms about redrilling axles, drums and rotors for other bolt patterns, so why not these?

    - 63 falcon/comet with a V8
    - Some 63 fairlanes with a V8 (most had 14 inch)

I have a set of factory wheels off my 63 sprint convert with great rubber I'd sell. They are rust free and painted black. I even have the factory spinner wheel covers. $350 for all.

Lots of trailers used 13" and 5 on 4.5 pattern. Check you local trailer supply store. They used to sell them here at Henderson Wheel and they were a match to the Falcoln rims with the baby moon hubcaps.

Very early mustangs had them too.64 1/2 with the 260s and early 289.
Look on some stang sites. Most owners mod the cars to hell and throw away the oem stuff.
I know cause i make my living with mustangs..

If there is a Tractor Supply or Northern Equipment store nearby, they stock them in nearly every store. They fit lots of aftermarket trailers, boat trailers, etc.

In 25 years of messing with Fairlanes at shows and salvages I have never seen a '62-64 with five lugged 13s from the factory. I think five lugged 13s and four lugged anythings on early Fairlanes are figments of folks imaginations or clouded memories.

the 1963 1/2 Falcon Sprints came with V8s and five lugged 13s and I think they were the first to do so. I know where two such rims are in a local Ford nut's salvage yard, one is one the south east corner and the other in a 30+ year pile of discards.

A 185/50 14 inch tire should fit nicely in a Falcon wheel well without being overly wide. I don't know that you could get a white wall of any width in that size though if that's a concern.

    1964 V-8 Falcons and early V-8 Mustangs
61-64 Econolines both Vans and pick-ups and Falcon Vans
All these models came from the factory with 5 lug 13" wheels.

Some Mopars in the '60s had the same pattern, check them for a 13" 5 lug wheel.

They're the first thing everyone here used to dump! Now, fifteen inch 4 on 4-1/4" are in limited supply: about the only readily available ones are from late '50s - early '60s Hillman Minx and Husky models.

A lot of the guys on the Falcon sites are getting away from the 13" rims and going to 14" because the correct tire size 185/80R13 (24.7" outside diameter) has been discontinued by most tire manufacturers and will soon be hard to find.

Your 14" tires probably look ugly to you because they are the wrong size (not equivalent to the 13" size in diameter.)

A H.S buddy of mine had a '63 Ranchero with 14" wheels on it. I had a flat one day and he offered up his factory spare tire...it wouldnt clear my 11" brake drums...it was a 13" 5 lug wheel!
