Boy do I wish I good be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fond memories of Oxford Plains both circle track racing and drag racing.

To see the old King & Marshall AA/FD again would be really special.

I hope the weather is perfect for the event.

Kerry, that was a scary moment I can't believe he didn't roll the thing. That was not a good weekend at Lebanon. I was at the shop the other night and they have the front end all straight again and ready to go.

  4. Today's tracks and tires are too much for 60's dragsters.

Waay too sticky. That was scary to watch all twisted up like that.

  6. Very good to hear. Any changes to traction or how they plan on launching her?

  7. Tracks were not "treated" back in the day and slicks were hard compared to today's compounds thus most FED's smoked the tires the full quarter.

Ray has made alot of clean passes in that car, they had a little too much clutch on that pass. The car is running a new tune on 85% this year and sounds insane. I went out first thing in the morning and blew the tires off in my car but as the day went on the bite increased alot. Thankfully he is ok and the car had minimal damage. Yes the engines are too far back for today's tracks and it sometimes leads to some hairy passes.

  11. Awesome pics!!! Can't say the tires aren't working. I know it wouldn't look period correct but maybe a set of wheelie bars are in order just for safety sake. The engine sure sounds healthy in the video.

I have an almost identical video I took of Ray in 2008 at Bowlin Green...I'll have to see if I can post it.

It's not a great pic, but here's one frame from it...

Yes the car will be there and will be making passes tomorrow night.

  15. That is me driving my first race for King & Marshall at New England's Grande American in 1971. We beat Tom Ivo in the final.

That caster has history to it. This is Jimmy King at the 1970 US Nationals. The next race the car had a caster on top of the cage.

  17. Yep! I was looking through my stuff but couldn't find the picture. Somebody had a sense of humor.
